Mickeys I play by my father's nickname which is Mick.

Been playing chess since '72.  Joined the Vermont Chess Association in '79 as a beginner with a 1000 rating.  Within 2 years my rating was 1844.  Played The Pirc till a Master beat me 7 straight times with the Austrian Attack.  Switched to the Dragon which 2 of my teammates now play.  I gave it up as it requires sharp play and strong knowledge of sharp variations against the Yugoslav Attack.  ICC trainer IM rated 2300 recommended that I play the French as it suits my style.  I know the late MG and EG very well, even he stated that.

Twice divorced with a child from each marriage.  Moved to Concord NH in '90 to stay with my sister and finally joined the USCF.  Within 2 years my rating was 1921, now it is 1709.   I'm 61 and did work in IT at the local newspaper and now programming in VBA and working in Circulation for them.

The last 2 years I had 2 major operations as I was much overweight which caused diabetes (only have to diet).  Feeling very healthy now as I exercise at the gym lost 40 pounds.

Played on ICC '97 to '99 my Rating was 1953.  2000 had to work overtime due to the millennium change on hardware so I played little.  '04 started playing on ICC again and got my rating to 1898 then started TDing and my rating went downhill.  Finally the rating is at 1800 again due to Russ hagging me about playing too fast.  Can play blindfold which means I can visualize which is a must if you want to be a strong player.

Some know that I TDed Gauntlet and the Sunday STC which takes up a lot of personal time.

Starting to get the hang of programming this site.   The site is simple and
over time we will have Logos and more Links and personal logins.  In the future I plan on creating a MySQL database to store games.
